  15. Introduction to 4D ultrasound applications in mid-pregnancy.

Standards of 4D Obstetric Scan

4D ultrasound has been serving the medical community for more than a decade with a wealth of information can be provided instantly. By obtaining a volume of a specific anatomy within a region of interest (ROI), one can navigate in three orthogonal planes around a pivot point within this constructed volume to obtain any diagnostic plane for extensive anatomical study with different rendering modalities.

In this HD p720 video lecture you will learn:

  1. How to perform a 3D/4D study of the fetal face using surface rendering.
  2. Assessment of fetal brain anatomy.
  3. Brain perfusion assessment (MCA).
  4. Assessment of fetal spine and ribs using maximum (skeleton) mode.
  5. Assessment of intra-abdominal structures.
  6. Volumetric assessment of fetal heart using STIC  and color flow mapping.
  7. Reassessment of fetal head and face using maximum (skeleton) mode.
  8. Quick reassessment of fetal trunk and pelvic structures using 2D ultrasound.
  9. How to perform a volumetric lower limbs study.
  10. Fetal gender detection using 3D/4D ultrasound.
  11. Distal and proximal segment assessment of the upper limbs.
  12. Distal and proximal segment assessment of the lower limbs.
  13. Doppler Assessment of Flow:
    1. Fetal aorta (FA).
    2. Umbilical artery (UA).
    3. Ductus venosus (DV).
  14. Fetal biometry assessment (BPD, OFD, HC, AC and FL).
  15. Placental thickness assessment.
  16. Hands and fingers volumetric study.
  17. Assessment of the corpus callosum.
  18. Surface rendering of umbilical cord insertion.

Anomaly Scan

A detailed anomaly scan, in the period of 18 to 22 weeks gestational age, is a great screening tool for a wide variety of congenital anomalies.

Systematic and meticulous ultrasound scan up to the standard guidelines is the corner-stone of increased sensitivity and specificity for diagnosing, or excluding fetal congenital anomalies after period of organogenesis.

In this HD p720 video lecture you will learn:

  1. Probe orientation.
  2. Full bladder technique.
  3. Fetal orientation.
  4. Fetal biometry.
  5. Volume acquisition of fetal limbs.
  6. Assessment of fetal brain.
  7. Fetal spine assessment.
  8. Assessment of fetal trunk.
  9. Basic assessment of fetal heart.
  10. Assessment of the fetal face.
  11. Umbilical cord assessment.
  12. Fetal aortic blood flow assessment.
  13. Ductus Venosus flow assessment.
  14. Assessment of the corpus callosum.
  15. Cervicometry.
